Yeah. I don’t really see a scenario where we would really need him. He still have Jeffery, Bennett, and the four depth players that Shero signed in the offseason: Riley Holzapfel, Warren Peters, Phillippe the other Dupuis, and Trevor Smith.

No, it sounds like that’s what it should mean but no. The “2-way” contract only refers to the salary structure where a player is making a certain amount in the NHL and a different amount in the AHL. The 1-or-2-way contract status has nothing to do with whether the player can be brought up and sent down without waivers. That has to do with number of games played in the NHL and age.

If hes on a two way deal, why would he be exposed to waivers?

Doesnt that mean they can bring him him and send him down at will?

I highly doubt that they bring in a 34 year old plugger (we have enough of those to fill 7 lines now at WBS and in Pittsburgh) to take one of the few contract spots left in order to “build depth”. The moves they’re making right now are making me nervous.
