this is a one game suspension if Lundin doesn’t get a concussion. it’s similar to mike richards hit couple years ago on petrovecky and booth. i have no problem with the suspension.

I did know Neal played for the Stars but was unaware he got suspended as a Star! That’s what I was asking. The only incident I was aware of was in Philly.

I love how pitt fans have such a short memory. Less than a year ago your beloved Neal had a far more dirt hit on Couts. Couts didn’t even have puck and Neal was a couple more inches off the ground. Stop being hypocrites and worry about your own teams actions before passing judgements. I know you guys will come back with 1975 or the broad street bullies or the big misconception that pitt as a city has more championships than philly. If pitt fans took time to google they would actually find out they are 3 championships behind Philly as a whole. Philly has 17 total pitt has 14. So stop with all the bashing and just take a step back remember own teams actions before casting judgements

As a Flyers fan I will tell you I thought the hit was a bit over the top, mostly due to the launching. It was illegal and should have netted a fine or 1 game suspension. 4 games is way too long IMHO. It’s hockey, fellas. Please Shanahan, don’t pull a Goodell here.

4 games seems like a little much, but I’m ok with it. It looked like a clean hit until you watch 7 times in slow motion. He barely left his feet, but oh well. Just wish the NHL was more consistent with the suspensions for dirty plays.

I think Shanny just rolls the dice to get his decision. I agree. He has no consistency. I’m not sure how a hockey play gone a little bad gets 4 games while Duncan Keith gets 5 for a blatant and purposeful elbow which is not a hockey play.

When I was a young buck growing up in the 70′s and watching hockey down at the old Spectrum the punishment for skating with your head down was a legal hit called the hip check ! This is a lost art now a days because of how the speed of the game has change dramatically and to calculate this hit these days is almost impossible to deliver without looking the fool ! Once in awhile you will see it along the boards hardly ever in open ice !

I really don’r think any fan base is whining about these types of hits being disciplined and I especially don’t think the rank and file has a problem with it ! Keeping players in the game healthy is good for the game and what is good for the game puts money in the pocket of the players ! That being said I still think the players are looking for that perfect knock out hit that falls within the rules !
Only problem being with the size and speed of the game its very hard to deliver the perfect hit because you naturally lift up when you deliver any hit in hockey !

The only reason it is 4 games is because he met with Shanaban about 2 days before this. Coincidence that the next game he has to go back? They are giving him a tough lesson for his first suspension.
