That fight was worth something, and no it wasn’t in a really stupid way. In that situation, Chara is always going to get an instigator. Very few people actually equally want to drop them with a 6’9″, angry Zdeno Chara. But that sent a huge message to the entire league, that if you mess with their young, top offensive threat, you won’t get Thornton or even Lucic sent after you – it’ll just be the biggest thing they’ve got. Huge message sent there and I’m sure the team is fine with paying the price that it takes to get it across.

You know, there’s something to be said for it… but that’s about twenty less games per team, and that much less revenue coming in to the league, so I’d call it very, VERY unlikely. :/

You’re kind of an angry guy, huh? Lighten up, man. It’s a game. Passion is good for fans and players, but you’re nuts on here most of the time. I mean, when the Starbucks guy accidentally uses soy milk instead of skim in your latte, do you start throwing sugar packets around the joint and scream “SCUMBAG COFFEE MONKEY!!!” in his face from the top of the front counter? Why not try talking about the game for once? You’re obviously a big fan. I don’t know that I’ve seen you post comments that weren’t full of little nicknames and nastiness more than once or twice, though. Every team’s got guys who cross the line. It’s hockey, it happens. Why don’t you come on down from Coronary Town and just have a nice little discussion about goals and checks and passes… Breathe, dude. Just breathe.

he broke his stick on his ribs. The canadiens played well. They are a good team. The bruins lost this one. I’m happy with chara doing what he did even if it means a loss. I will say i’m just happy montreal is again relevant again because last year these games were no fun. I look forward to these games again. 1-1 so far.

I actually agree on about 75% of those – there are always blown calls on both sides, but there are a few teams that make a habit of dirty play and the refs allow them to bend the rules way more than they should.

Chara should be kicked for a number of games. Horton actually played like a goon last night, I don’t follow either of those teams but I’ve never seen Horton play that way. I thought the Bruins played dirty enough that I was definitely cheering for the Habs win.

All I could think when I watched that hijacking is that Chara should be suspended. I’m not a fan of either the Habs or the Bruins, but unless you are a Bruins fan, there was no good in that.

actually it wasn’t a cross check. In the video, Emelin’s stick is around the front of Seguin and he pushes him with his right arm. Seguin just lost an edge and Chara lost his cool, charged at him and blind sided him. What a joke. Typical Boston bruin dirty play. Thanksfully the habs stuffed it to them.

Talk about seeing what YOU want to see. No comment on that bc I don’t care. He didn’t harm Prust. He’s being annoying out there…sooo..ya? What else is new? He gets under people’s skin and puts up three points. Best player on the ice tonight. If you don’t realize WHY Chara went after Emellin, then you’re blind. Subban embellished and the ref didn’t fall for it and rightfully so. There is a reason the Habs have so many PPs this year. They embellish. Listen, this game had nothing unexpected to me. It’s going to be a battle. I’m not going to complain about it. If you like to lose sleep over it, go ahead. That was a great game and proves they are going to be fighting for tops in the east. That’s great news to me. I’m happy. You’re complaining after a win. Go figure.

If there was ever a time for Chara to react that way, it was then. Seguin is their future. If a captain doesn’t react at that point in time, then he never will. I’ve always liked Emellin, since he first entered the fray. He plays hard, he hits…I think he’s pretty good. I don’t think that crosscheck was all that bad but it just got Seguin in a bad spot.

Nothing to complain about there. Pretty great game. Nobody should be bragging about either team. They are pretty evenly matched, obviously. It was a 4-3 game that came down to the wire. The refs were too involved again. Bad calls/missed calls on both sides that were pretty clear. Some soft calls that should never have been made.. etc. Two best teams in the east until Malkin comes back, IMO.
