Video: Patrick Kaleta ejected for check from behind on Brad Richards

Mar 3, 2013, 10:02 PM EDT

Buffalo Sabres pest Patrick Kaleta was given a game misconduct and five-minute major for checking New York Rangers center Brad Richards from behind during Sunday’s game:

Richards was able to return to action after that hit, which happened 3:28 into the third period. The Rangers scored one goal on the five-minute major power play opportunity.

The 32-year-old star looked shaken up by that check, so we’ll see if things change despite his quick return.

Kaleta, 26, received a four-game suspension for headbutting Jakub Voracek back in November 2011, so he does have a history of supplementary discipline.
