Never said they were afraid of him scoring goals, though. There are other reasons to want Kaleta out – please see video…as a coach, wouldn’t you want him out for the next game?

as a ranger fan, was it a dangerous hit, yes it was, but Ive seen worst. and everyone like’s making cute joke’s about Brad Richards, but no matter what team you root for hits like that need to stop. no need to possibly end a players career. there’s nothing like a good hard clean check, that’s part of the game, but there’s no need for slamming a player from behind knowing that you could seriously injure

cups I could not agree with more I was looking for the right word to describe the hit and you hit it right on its a shove ! What you are getting now from these guys is once they feel something like that SHOVE they go into a controlled fall looking for all this litigation and drama !

For all the hating on Kaleta the fact is the guy rarely commits dirty plays. He does agitate players and is very good at getting under their skin. But can you really identify 3 incidents where he made a play to intentionally injure another player? This was a dumb play but something should be said for how Richards acted like a little B@$#. He’ll still get 5 games which I don’t disagree with.

these crybaby Sabres (including crybaby Miller) tried to injure 4 Islanders in the last minute of a blowout loss but its not a story until they take one puny shot against a Ranger. *yawn* Tortarellas a bum and his act is old and tiring. Time for them to go hire the next biggest name Ruff.

The ‘blame the victim’ stuff on these PHT comments sections is unreal sometimes.

It’s no different than targeting the head – I’m always amazed that professional hockey players are willing to do this stuff to each other. The league has fallen so pathetically far behind on player safety but it’s not just the NHL, it’s the NHLPA too.

As A Rangers fan, the only thing I believe Torts is on the money with is, that the hit lacks respect for a fellow player. You can’t make that hit, while your union & the league talk about player safety.

Torts, I liked you since the Cup in Tampa, but you must have not been watching hockey the past couple of years if that is the MOST dangerous play he has ever scene.. His press conference are terrible, all I hear him is complain. After the winter classic, I lost a lot of respect for him, and now these statements makes me wonder why the NHL does not give you bigger fines for your outbreaks.

Most dangerous? LOL!!! That whole team is taking drama classes. It was a nasty FALL!!! The hit was a shove. Richards went flying towards the boards. He was lucky he wasn’t really hurt. Although, he did put on quite a show when he was down. He acted like he was stabbed with a rusty sword.

Almost bought in to it myself UNTIL the camera caught his smirking as he was back on the bench not even 2 minutes in to that PP.
