As a Wings fan I disagree (SHOCKER!) I think Chicago needs to keep winning, the longer the streak goes the more people are interested in the game we all love to watch and bicker back and forth about. And I did say that Chicago beat a mediocre Wings team because one of the blackhawks fans referenced it. It is true, we are not the same team, if you were a wings fan you would understand. It says more to me that our rookies/young talent, and streaky veterans at best could keep up with your squad. I hate the blackhawks, but always respect them. But for some of your fans it is hard for me to respect.

Who cares how many Cups a team has won. Good hockey is good hockey, and the 'Hawks are playing damn well right now. Yes, they are catching breaks, but what teams doesn't have some luck with a streak like this.
Towes19cup, every team goes through a transition period which the Wings are going through now with the loss of 3 of their top 4 defensemen over the past couple of seasons that would hurt any team plus the Wings have delt with the most man games lost to injury in the league and the Hawks have not delt with any large injuries as of yet. Here is a reality check for you a good portion of Hawks fans are bandwagoners because not to long ago your Hawks could not even draw 7,000 people to some games and the only time they would sellout is when the Wings came to town add into those bad years you get to draft players like Towes and Kane, the Wings have made the playoffs 21 straight years and they have drafted low with some years not even having a first round pick, that shows how good the Wings scouting staff is.

To all the Red Wings that are making comments such as (the hawks had a tough time with a bad red wings team) or (you guys almost lost to the grand rapids griffins), just shut your mouth. Their are 3 good reasons why those are ridiculous comments to make about this game and Blackhawk team.

1) The Hawks have a target on their back now since this streak has become so big and headline news. Every team plays Chicago as if it is a playoff game.
2) It is a Blackhawks, Red Wings game! Every game since I can remember have been like playoff games. No matter who is better in the standings, those games are always tough and good games.
3)Its the NHL! Any team can win on any night. No game is easy, all of them are tough games.

When the Red Wings were on that home winning streak last year, I was not saying oh they almost lost the islanders or columbus at home. I was rooting for them (unless they were playing the Hawks of course) to keep it going. I was mad that Vancouver ended that streak but hell they played their tale off and should not take anything away from the wings during those 20+ no matter who they played.
As a Blackhawks fan, I know this streak is going to end sooner rather than later, so let us enjoy the ride while it lasts. We need a lose in regulation so they can get that out of their way and just focus on the cup. I am affraid of these games coming up with the Avs but no matter what happens and who we loose too, it was fun!

GO HAWKS 19-0-3!

No! Just serving you up a taste of what you dish out...how does it taste?

Cry baby cry
Make your mother sigh
She's old enough to know better
So cry baby cry cry cry cry baby
Make your mother sigh

I couldn't name a Nickleback tune if my life depended on it, but they've done rather well coming as they do from a tiny prairie town in filthy rich Alberta. As far as I'm concerned, rock and roll quit producing anything original after the Beatles and certainly after the premiere of Saturday Night Fever. New wave, punk and grunge did its best, but the mindless repetition and techno-slop served up today is just that...

Ditto the hockey. Advancements in equipment, use of helmets, and small rinks have ruined the game. Was a time when every team had two or three players of Datsyuk's ilk. Now, you just need to be big, dirty, and willing to give your brain to science by the time you reach forty five. I miss old time hockey and I miss caning in the schools, the world is sorrier for the loss...

Actually, it's not the messenger. It's the messenger's message.

It's funny to me that you went to the "inbred children in their basement" chestnut, especially given your post @ 3:48 p.m. If that doesn't reek of immature and petulant denial in the face of the reality that, while yes, Chicago has been on the receiving end of some breaks, they are not some bumbling team of retreads that just stumbled their way to this streak.

It's my honest opinion that your honest opinion will never give Chicago any credit, even in the absolutely absurd and win out and go 16-0 in the playoffs. So be it.

P.S. That attempt to defend Nickelback was awesome. And not in the way you probably wanted.

toews19cup... if you are referring to the wings as not being as good as they used to be then what does it say about your team. Because your team no doubt is doing amazing things. But to have a sub-par wings team give you your hardest run for your money this season says more to me then anything. Our vetrans are streaky and most will be gone in the next 5 seasons, but our young talent is arising to the occasion, and that says volumes, especially since the salary cap lowers next year to 63 mil, so you will have to get rid of some of your core 8. This is your last chance to win a cup in a long time... good luck with that. But a Blackhawks fan to discredit the wings is mind blowing since your fan base used to be a joke like 5 seasons ago. Nobody is living in the past, history is history, 11 cups to 4; 389 wins to 311; 21 straight playoff seasons with 4 cups to your 28 straight playoff seasons and no cups. Look how the Nhl was started, organized professional hockey was started in Michigan, which later turned/inspired the creation of the NHL. Hockey has deep roots here... So yea we get a bit sensitive.

the streak isn't legit. 3 ot losses in the shootout shouldnt count as points. the shootout is a circus to keep people interested in the game and was put in by bettman to turn the game into a joke. It has to a larger extent as turned off the hardcore hockey that was watching it since the early days. As a hockey fan from the 80's, i don't see this a legit streak. a team that loses in regulation or overtime shouldn't be rewarded.
