Gotta love when fans try and claim what a player’s intent was, as if you have a window into their brains as they line people up for hits. Seems this guy is building up a track record pretty quickly.

BTW why do Flyers fans hate Crosby? I mean is it because he dives? Because a lot of players and star players embellish in the NHL. As for wishing a concussion on a rival player is ridiculous! I would never wish anything like that on Giroux.

Please stop posting this. Wishing injury on anyone is bad karma. If you’re a Flyers fan, you wouldn’t want that type of hit delivered to Giroux. I know I don’t. It’s that much sweeter when we beat a fully healthy Pens team.

That’s a pretty quick diagnosis determining concussion…normally several hours and even days are required. MacLean must have gone to the same medical school as did Mike Gillis. This is simply more whining and posturing for league favour from the Senators [ The Sens had Matt Cooke fitted-up for a date with 'Ol Sparky you might recall ]. I attribute Ottawa’s whining to two things: proximity to Quebec where whining is a cherished cultural institution, read: Canadiens; and, the fact its entire population are civil servants with entrenched notions of entitlement under-pinned by whining to secure same, read: the Senate. Accordingly, the Senators are aptly named…

Youre pathetic. Thats like saying “i hope you take a terrible fall at work and that you potentially can never work again.”

Idc who you are or who you root for in a particular game (its a GAME), wishing injury on anybody is plain pathetic. Thats the lowest form of trash i can think of.

Even i (a pens fan) wished pronger well when he initally got a head injury.

Back to the real story. Hope the guy who got injured gets back soon. It WAS an illegal hit (he left his feet BEFORE any contact), therefore i hope he gets a solid suspension.

Crushing hit. A player can not move parallel to the blue line Adam Oates said it himself. No matter what team you play that move will get you killed at the NHL level. Will certainly end in suspension but should not be more than one game. He did not target the head but dud make contact. Reckless charging one game out any more would be outrageous.

Hopefully they show both videos …the Philly version and the …oh there is only one…usually there are two..one for the flyers and one against their opponents, but both are the same video. Pathetic whiners and fan boys in Philly.

Taken on it’s own (and not compared to other hits which people mistakenly like to do), it wasn’t all that bad. I say he gets something but not 5 games. And lets be clear. He was NOT targeting the head and he did NOT have intent to injure. Everyone jumps on that bandwagon so quickly it is ridiculous. There was head contact but doesn’t mean he targeted the head. Those are two completely different situations. Targeting the head deserves banishment. Incidental contact deserves punishment…if anything at all.

First of all, this was not even close to being similar to an errant elbow that was meant to stop a player headed for a breakaway. That comparison is laughable. That being said, I think the hit itself was clean, however it WAS charging. Harry made a bee-line straight for Lundin, but last I heard, charging was a 2 min minor. I think the refs are handing out game misconducts waaayyyy to frequently this year, and not just to the Flyers. Almost every team has been hit with this garbage. Man up and just give the right penalty unless somebody does something reckless. You dont have to throw someone out of every game just because they make a big hit. And Yeardon wants to make the comparison with the elbow to Simmons but remember, Erskine wasn’t even penalized on that play. The refs are still suffering the effects of the lockout and its pretty pathetic.

Hopefully Lundin doesn’t miss too much time, and hopefully Zolnierczyk learns from this (I’m guessing 3-5 game suspension). He has nice speed and obviously isn’t afraid to be physical, but he needs to learn the art of a CLEAN open ice hit.
