AP The good news for Dallas’ Jamie Benn is that he won’t miss any time for cross-checking Ryan Jones. The bad news is he’ll be coughing up the maximum amount of money you can be fined.
The NHL announced a $10,000 fine for Benn for his actions late in the Stars 5-1 loss to Edmonton on Thursday night. It’s the first time Benn has been punished by the league for running afoul of the law, but that won’t make giving up ten-grand any easier to take.
We’ve seen Benn’s feisty side pop up a couple times this year including duking it out with Sharks captain Joe Thornton.
Dallas is at home tomorrow afternoon against St. Louis.

Really? Good to see an intense dive give someone a fine. If he did not act like he was dead, benn stays in the game.
