Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall left the game in the second period of Friday’s game against the St. Louis Blues and will not return, according to the Oilers official Twitter account.

According to Edmonton Journal hockey writer Jim Matheson, Hall blocked a shot in the second period and left the game after playing “several shifts.”

Hall is recently coming off a two-game suspension, and had three goals and 17 points in 17 games. He also had a goal in tonight’s game, which was tied 2-2 heading into the third period.

after he blocked that shot he played a couple more shifts and then proceeded to skate almost full speed right into the endboards. i feel like this kid does not play smart enough to have any longevity in this league.

What…an errant knee caused a blocked shot?

    Instant Karma’s gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
    You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you’re gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin’ to do
It’s up to you, yeah you…
