LOL you mean the play that Penner grazed his shoulder against Smith’s shoulder? Good noncall, contact was barely there + incidental. This is the big boy league not no-phantom-contact house league

The knee contact here was secondary anyway, as I commented on an earlier post. It was a clear cut body check. Initial contact was Z’s shoulder to Perreault’s chest with their legs making contact afterwards. In no way, shape, or form is that kneeing. Its called incidental contact. Its the correct decision by shanny.

Harry in no way shape or form moved his knee or any other part of his body. He lined the guy up, dipped his shoulder and Perreault moved and was at a bad position. Wasn’t even a knee, it was a thigh.

There was no reason for the hit but it was clean.

Oh and the Penner thing someone mentioned. Initial contact was shoulder to shoulder… Then arm to shoulder then elbow came up and I don’t think it touched the head…. But it was def an interference…….

Anybody see the elbow Penner threw last night on Detroit’s Smith? I’m pretty steamed about it, threw an elbow.

Wasn’t like a flying elbow or anything, but Smith was definately getting blindside hit by an elbow to Smith’s head and Smith was wobbly after

This hit wasn’t worthy of a hearing. Hall purposely stuck his leg out to make contact with Clutterbuck. There was no such action here. He shouldn’t have been tossed, but I can understand the refs wanting him out with 25 seconds to avoid any shenanigans.

Buddy, just because there is no hearing doesn’t mean they didn’t look at it. They obviously looked and found nothing that merited a hearing. I’m no Flyer fan and I agree totally with this decision…..I think the hit was clean and the only reason Zolnierczyk was tossed was to avoid any aftermath in a game that was already decided. Perreault should have had his head up!….and this hit was nothing even remotely close to Hall’s hit….

It wasn’t hearing worthy…….it was a player with his head down coming across the middle of the ice. Harry was looking to make a hit…….nothing more. The play was moving so quickly at that. Harry isn’t a dirty player……he’s a pure adrenaline, fast, hardworking energy player who would ‘t TRY to purposely hurt any player. Oates knew it wasn’t a dirty hit or hearing worthy, that’s why he said it was his own players fault for going across the middle with his head down. Nothing to do with “not sticking up for his own players”.

So it’s two games if Taylor Hall does it, and not even worth a look here? I’m not saying it’s the exact same hit (it isn’t), but it wasn’t even worth the time to review it other than watching it a couple of times on NHL Network this morning?

I really want to like Shanahan, but the dartboard-punishment stuff is getting really old.
