Milbury – to be a man you don’t have to go into the stands and beat someone with his own shoe. You’re a loser – as a player , coach and GM. Never won a Stanley Cup. Dude was part of the core that helped the “Hawks hoist the Cup. Ask any ‘Hawks fan about Brouwer’s skill and work ethic. He’s has experienced the one thing the Caps organization has not. The man was asked a question about Semin and gave an honest answer. Alot of players know the same and would shy away from the truth. Leaders don’t sugar coat anything.

I heard Mcguire praising the Flyers in the last Pens-Flyers game too. I’m not deaf or oblivious, but that’s the exception and not the rule. It also helped that the Flyers were leading and playing a solid offensive game when he made those comments. When the Pens came back Mcguire reverted back to his normal self. He LOVES the Pens but he’s also smart enough to know that he cant constantly praise one side during a neutral broadcast.

As for Milbury, he doesn’t dislike the Flyers like he does the Pens, we all know that. But that’s because he likes physical hockey over finesse hockey. Also, he can’t stand whiners or players who don’t respect the game (ie Crosby and Ovi, respectively). Milbury says dumb stuff but NBC doesn’t care bc fans come on here and other forums and talk about it. It garners attention for the network and PHT. Islanders fans hating Milbury is completely understandable as he traded away the likes of Zigmund Palffy, Zdeno Chara, Roberto Luongo, Olli Jokinen, Bryan McCabe, Bryan Berard, and Spezza (2nd pick) for the likes of Alexei Yashin and to keep Dipietro (plus give him his absurd deal). I would hate him too if he set my franchise back 10 years.

As a Caps fan, I would have to agree with Milbury about Ovi last night. However, there were a number of other players that “dogged it” last night, that deserve the same assessment. The Caps allowed the Flyers to do what they wanted. All facets of their game were non-existent, could be just one of those nights, or roster changes to fit what Oates needs. I think it is a bit of both. Finally, the “C” needs to be give to Troy Brouwer. He is the true leader of the team and gives his all every night. This is Ovi’s last year as Captain. Count on that.

Mike Milbury is an Ovie hater & a bloviating oik to boot. I’d like to see him take a stick from behind to the face under the visor. Give the Caps a break; 3 games in 4 days (Ovie had a hat trick & 4 points the day before.) Five wins in their last eight. Yes, the whole team was flat last night. How about having three coaches, w/three systems, in less than 1 & 1/8th seasons, with no training camp to learn the newest. Check the your press game notes Mike; Ovie stats in the past three years continue to place him among the league elite. That is more than I can say about your commentary.

I think Flyers fans like him – if I was you I’d love him. He’s brutally baised…he LOVES the Flyers. I’d like to see him taken out of the nationally broadcasted games and take a job with a local Flyers station. He’d be great for that.

NBC is hurting it’s own reputation by keeping Milbury. He needs to take a full time job with the Flyers organization. If I was a Flyer fan, I’d love him (from many of the comments it seems they are ok with him).

its funny to me when flyers fans say mguirre has a bone for the pens when all i hear from him is how much he loves giroux and the rookies couterier and read. i guess you hear what you want when your on your side of the fence but either way i cant stand mcguire – he has a bone for whoever is on the ice it seems like at any given time. he sounds like a pedophile with all his “knowledge” of minor league hockey in canada…he takes pride in following little boys around which is just obnoxious and creepy. “oh i saw him play when he was twelve in middle of nowhere, saskatchewan midget league this and that, i had a bone for him then and still do”…gets old and annoying.

Ugh, this is tough to watch your favorite team just crumble man. The flyers are a beatable team, no reason why we couldnt handle them. Need some more grit and guys that can handle the physicality, especially since we’ll be playing them alot more next year
