The Panthers were on a 5-3 PP but Cooke’s penalty had just expired as Kopecky scored, which is why Cooke was on the ice.

First.

Orpik couldn’t have cross checked kopecky, he was in the box. It was Adams

Second, the players on the ice were Adams, Letang and Glass. Cooke was also in the box.

Funny thing, I rewatched this on both the home and away broadcasts, the Panthers announcers were being just as big of homers as the Pens announcers. They were complaining about Adams not getting a penalty for the crosscheck and the Kopecky got a double-minor. In regards to the Pens announcer’s concerns, look who you have on the ice, even if you are “outnumbered” the Pens had Tanner Glass, Craig Adams, and Matt Cooke all on the ice, those three are more likely to drop the gloves than any of the 5 Panthers.

The announcer was being such a homer the panthers players werent even trying to do anything, if i remember correctly this had to do with something kopecky did earlier in the game mainly but what the hell, they dont need to get vokoun involved the panthers players arent even fighting they are just getting punched in the face for no reason.

In fact, he took all four of his dogs for a walk in Vokuon’s yard; three Saint Bernards and a Newfoundland, the latter of which has had the galloping trots for the better part of a week. What’s with Tomas and his choice of lefties…one would have thought the Francois Beauchemin experiment would have been plenty, but nooooo?

The whole dust-up occurred because Craig Adams crosschecked Kopecky and sent him into Vokoun after Kopecky had scored. So Kopecky scores, gets crosschecked in the back, gets a blocker in the head, and then is rewarded with two 2:00 roughing penalties, resulting in a Pens PP. Pretty eventful 20 seconds of hockey.
