Watch Cam Ward rob Joel Ward

Feb 26, 2013, 9:22 PM EDT

The Washington Capitals currently lead the Carolina Hurricanes 3-0 on Alexander Semin‘s awkward reunion night, but don’t blame Cam Ward for the deficit.

While his overall night has been impressive, this second period save on Caps winger Joel Ward might be in the running for save of the year:

Second best save I have seen in person (Varlamov on Crosby)… WE NEED TO STOP WARD ON WARD CRIME!

Unbelievable save. Could have been 5-0 at least if it wasn’t for him. Also, glad Semin didn’t score on that breakaway shorthanded in the first, would’ve been a game changer. Big win for the caps and Holtby has been solid the last 7 or so games. Keep it up.

On the other side of the rink between the pipes, Holtbeast has his second shutout this season, and continues to impress after a rough start to the season. Last 7 games his GAA is right around 2, with 2 shutouts and a .957 save percentage. BOOM.

But yet, Pittsburgh fans keep focusing on his “ghastly” and “atrocious” stats
