Back to the same game, did you see Datsyuk's disallowed goal? He was frustrated but not because of the no goal ruling, clearly correct. Pavel was put-out because he had actually attempted to scoop and cradle the puck ala jai alai with the intent of finishing with an underhanded backhand sweep into the top corner. Unfortunately for his adoring millions, his stick caught Luongo's trapper on the way through, making the the attempt into what a cruder and less gifted super star may have attempted, the dull-witted swat. Watch a replay, you can see Pavel roll his wrists in his follow through, but the puck was already errant...

All the players know, or should know, that the boards at JLA are very lively. It does take some skill to bounce it off just right, but the Sedin play is hardly the first time a player has used those boards to good effect. Lidstrom did it all the time, banking the puck from the boards out to the front of the goal hoping a Red Wing would be there to snap it in.

Hell of a goal, the put-away is what really made it great...what a touch! Those boys are special no doubt. Saw the Wings adjust immediately, especially on the PK...you get one of those a season with the video coverage being so universal these days. Inventive, hardly...the play has been a staple in beer leagues the world over for the better part of a century? You want 'original' game in game out, watch our Pasha...the last true hockey auteur!
