Video: Ryan McDonagh banged up by Max Pacioretty hit

Things were bad enough for the New York Rangers’ defense with Michael Del Zotto hurt and Marc Staal sick, but now they’re biting their nails as Ryan McDonagh left the ice thanks to this hit by Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty:

Pacioretty received a two-minute boarding penalty for that check. While it’s too early to tell how bad McDonagh’s issue is, the New York Daily News’ Pat Leonard points out that he hasn’t returned to the bench yet.

McDonagh, 23, caught Pacioretty, 24, with this hit from behind (which wasn’t penalized) earlier in the second period on Saturday:
