Well said. I find the Penguins a disgusting organization but never wish injury on any player. As much as I despise what Cooke has done and what he stands for I would never hope for an injury. He should be out of the NHL but I wish him his health.

Malkin is a great player and the sport is weaker without him. Get well soon.

Was it Flyers announcers who said that? Nope. You have to be a closet Pens fan (despite your Sharks label) because you make constant disparaging comments about Philadelphia when you clearly know nothing about the city or the team. Do you even know who the Flyers announcers are? Because they’re no more biased than any other broadcasters for any team around the league. People hear little clips of video on PHT and think they know everything about a team. As for Malkin, great player, but you cannot say he had anywhere close to the impact of Giroux in the playoffs last year. He wouldn’t hate Couturier so much if his play wasn’t seriously affected by him. After his MVP last season, Malkin was a nonfactor in atleast 3 of the 6 games, and there’s no arguing his game was thrown off. Malkin, the former 2nd pick, with an unbelievable size and skill combo, was expected to be great and he fulfilled that. Still difficult but not much was expected of Giroux going back to his junior days. He wasn’t even drafted in Juniors, overcame major questions about his skating and size, and worked hard to become a great player. But comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. Giroux v. Crosby is a better comparison. Crosby is better, BUT during that series Giroux outplayed both Crosby and Malkin. And he played like the best player in the world during those 6 games. As for this season, 16 pts in 19 games isn’t too shabby especially when your line has been a revolving door. Without Jagr and Hartnell he’s had atleast 6 different linemates. Crosby, Malkin, and Giroux… all great players.

Thanks for keeping it classy man. Doesn’t look good for geno and I don’t expect to see him back anytime soon. The reason pens fans hate wayne simmonds is the same reason flyer fans hate geno, he’s good. Not to mention simmonds has a way of getting under our players skin. Can’t wait till the next pens vs flyers game and I hope hartnell, mez, and geno are all back for it, however I doubt the later will be.

The incessant, pointless trash talk from broadst above does not represent all Flyers fans. It’s one thing to argue over the results of a game or a series, but it’s another to have dumb disagreements on a page about a potential serious injury. No true hockey fan, or sports fan for that matter, wants to see a player seriously injured. Let alone paralyzed. That’s just a disgraceful comment. I hope Malkin is not seriously injured. The force that he hit his head was shocking, and it looks easily concussion-worthy but who knows. We all know the skill level of Malkin as he’s arguably the most talented player in the game. Anyone saying he’s lost a step or anything stupid like that doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I hate him, but I hate him bc he’s good. Anyway, hopefully Malkin isnt out for an extended period, it’s much sweeter to beat the Pens when they’re fully healthy.

As for Simmonds… in no way is he a disgrace to the game. Saying that is almost on the level of accusing Malkin of being unable to keep up with younger players. He plays a hard, physical game that any team would love to have. How often do you see a player with his size and speed also able to handle himself in a fight? Saying he’s a piece of trash is simply sour grapes from a Pens fan unhappy with the results of Wednesdays game.

Seriously, you Flyers fans and other trash talkers who say stuff like “He can’t hang with the young guns anymore and hope he’s paralyzed” need to throw away all the empty beer bottles on your couch that you just had after getting wasted and get a life. Malkin is 26, only about a year or so older than Crosby, not that old. Malkin is one of the hardest-working players in the NHL, and last year he put the team on his back. Geno is a class act, just like Sid.

BTW, I absolutely hate that garbage, piece of trash, disgrace-to-the-game Wayne Simmonds, but I defended him when he got a concussion. I didn’t say, “I hope he keeps getting hit in the head so he can’t play again.” Simmonds is a piece of crap, but I don’t wish ill on others. Even as a Penguins fan, I also defended Marian Hossa after the Raffi Torres and Jannik Hansen hits.

Watch, everyone is going to jump on the “Geno is a baby,” “Geno’s lost a step and he’s lazy” bandwagons. I am here to tell you that not only do you have no Idea what you are talking about, but you also don’t know the game of hockey.

How has “G” been this season? Not very well for being “the best player in the world” last season in the playoffs and now accepting the C.
