Chicago forward Marian Hossa said he feels good, passed tests and is ready to play tonight when the ‘Hawks take on the Sharks at the United Center.
“I feel good, otherwise I wouldn’t be playing,” Hossa explained following Friday’s morning skate.
The 34-year-old returned to practice on Thursday for the first time since being hit by Vancouver’s Jannik Hansen in Chicago’s 4-3 shootout win on Tuesday.
“He surprised me with a punch from behind,” said Hossa. “I was shaky for a few minutes right after, that’s why I didn’t return.”
On Thursday, Hossa said he was feeling fine and passed some concussion tests, paving the way for more tests on Friday and his eventual clearance to face the Sharks.
Hossa isn’t the only injured Blackhawk making his return tonight.
Winger Dan Carcillo, who has been out of the lineup since suffering a knee injury during Chicago’s season-opener on Jan. 19, will make his return as well after missing 15 games.
“I’ve been skating and getting in shape,” Carcillo told the Chicago Tribune. “I feel good. It’s healed so I’m ready to play.”
Goalie Corey Crawford will also return to the lineup after missing the last three games with an upper-body injury. He’ll serve as a backup to Ray Emery, who’ll be making his fourth straight start.
