Injured Anaheim defenseman Cam Fowler will be back in the lineup either Sunday against Colorado or Monday at Los Angeles, according to Eric Stephens of the OC Register.
Stephens spoke with Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau, who said the 21-year-old blueliner was ready to return and it was just a matter of when the club would work him back into the lineup.
Fowler hasn’t played since taking a hit from Kings forward Jarret Stoll on Feb. 2 and suffering an upper-body injury.
He’s missed the last eight games — the Ducks have gone 7-1 over that stretch — but participated in a 75-minute conditioning practice this week and said he felt ‘great’ afterward.
His return will be a boon for an Anaheim club that’s off to one of its best starts in years. The Ducks sit atop the Pacific Division and second in the Western Conference, trailing white-hot Chicago by just four points.
In six games this year Fowler has one assist while averaging close to 20 minutes per game.
