After suffering a seizure during an AHL game on Sunday, Springfield Falcons forward Wade MacLeod underwent tests and has received the results.

“Doctors have discovered a benign mass in Wade’s brain,” MacLeod’s family said in a statement, according to the NHL.com. “He will be undergoing further examination to determine the appropriate treatment. We appreciate the respect of Wade’s privacy at this time.”

MacLeod had the seizure after being hit into the glass. The game was postponed until March 1 as a result of the incident.

“It was a play that is made many times throughout a hockey game,” MacLeod said on Monday. “The result here was unfortunate but I am feeling much better.”

The 26-year-old is playing in his third season with the Falcons, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate.
