Whether or not it bounced off him, it wouldn’t constitute possession. They still allow a hit if a player is in the process of trying to play the puck but not if they’re just in the general area the puck has gone through.

Agreed, as a Wild fan myself, I don’t want Konopka or Rupp to take Hall down because the only way that happens is by putting us in the penalty box with out someone coming with them. Hall won’t step up to them with out getting an instigator on us.

It needs to be someone vaguely in the weight class. I would love for Koivu to step step up and make a statement for his team and by fighting Hall. outside him, likely candidates to do it are Brodziak, Stoner and Prosser.

Watch the play from the reverse angle and you can see knee on knee. I had thought the same as you at first when using the front view.

What does having two guys known mainly for their toughness going after a smaller skilled player prove? That’s not part of the hockey “code” if Clutterbuck is back there’s nothing wrong with him holding Hall accountable via a fight, or if he’s still out due to this injury then another player of similar size doing something similar.

But if you send a player with one purpose after him then the oilers will target your similar skilled players (Granlund or Parise) in a similar fashion and things escalate.

Handle it via “the code” and not with vengeance and it will be over after the next game.

I thought it bounced off his skate and not through his skate. Having the puck hit off him is what makes it a legal hit. I agree it was a shady hit. But a legal hit and that’s why I don’t think he should be suspended because it was a legal hit (unless there is an angle I didn’t see that shows Clutterbuck got hot at the knees or lower).

If the hit was on a player that had been playing he puck, then I say it’s just unlucky. As it is, Clutterbuck had the puck bounce through his skates and then gets hit by Hall as he turns away. Hall has to know hitting a player in that position isn’t good so it should result in discipline of some sort.

Any hit can be considered dangerous. I have nothing against either of these team. In fact I like Mike Yeo and have meet him a few times. But from the few angles I saw I didn’t see anything illegal with the hit.

It was a dirty hit from a dirty player. Hall will have a huge target on his forehead next time we play. Rupp and Konapka should both go after him. It’s times like this that the Boogie Man is missed the most, he would have taken on the whole bench last night. RIP#24

If you don’t think at a bare minimum that was a dangerous hit that has no place in the game, then I am resigned to believe you and I see the game very differently.

I’m I the only who thinks this hit isn’t suspension worthy? Clutterbuck plays the puck with his skate and Hall hits him in on his next stride. I only saw one view and it looked like Hall made contact with Cal’s thigh.

This is normal play for Hall check his AHL time. Yeo went out and got Rupp for some reason and didn’t use him. I would keep an ambulance on hand next time we play Edmental.

Was it even a knee on knee? More like a hip on knee. I see what he was trying to do. However, it was still a suspend-able hit. Intentional or not.
