Sometimes when I have a bad day, I come on PHT to laugh at pens fans. There are a lot of stupid flyers fans out there but pens fans are clueless, can’t blame them that’s what happens when you abandon a franchise

You really expected the Flyers to win that game after expending all that mental and physical energy the night before? Idk how the schedule makers expect the Flyers to keep making these quick turnarounds on back to backs. They’ve had to play more games than anyone in less time with plenty of travel. Philly was the only team in the league to start out their first two weeks with two back to backs, both with travel, with both sets of games separated by less than 24 hours. How does that happen? The Pens played Sunday, Wednesday, then Friday this week. The Flyers play Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. How does that work? If it’s not the worst, it’s top-five for brutal schedules in the NHL.

You are wrong. In no way has Schenn been awful. I’ve watched every minute of every Flyers game this season and he has been a solid presence. He’s had bad games, but he’s also had plenty of good games. There’s more to a defensemans game than being quick. Kimmo Timonen has lost two or three steps over the past few years but his play hasn’t dropped off. Why? Because he uses angles and brains. Which is something Schenn is improving all the time with. He’s not an all-star dman, we all get that. But he’s still very young and is on the upswing. He’s not the turnstile he was in Toronto.

pens were dominating until the time out and then the zolnercyk hit. the hit got the blood boiling, which is what the flyers always try to do, the pens got suckered in again and they played right into philly’s hands at that point. it was anyone’s game after that mess

You think Sean Couturier is a mongoloid compared to Malkin? Are you blind? Bobhpine, I thought you were a conceited loser before this comment, but wow. You know the Pens have 11 wins? All of 3 more wins than the Flyers. The Flyers took the season series and the playoffs last year. It’s all because the refs let the dirty old Flyers run wild right?? Is that why the Pens were on the PP for almost the last 7 mins of the 3rd? Including an extended 5-on-3. It’s all because the Pens stoop to Flyers level. I’m so sick of that tired point, it’s so overused. You know the Flyers have a fair amount of skill. And we were short handed. Missing Hartnell, Mezsaros (a top-4 dman), and Read (arguably our most consistent forward) while the Pens were missing Crosby, right? No wait, Malkin? Or was it Neal? Maybe Letang? Nope, they were all in and the amazing, unbelievably talented, gods gift to hockey known as the Pittsburgh Penguins still lost to the lowly Flyers in your building. What a joke.

Dude you obviously have not watched the Flyers more than a couple times this season. Yes Luke Schenn has been beaten (just like every other Dman in the NHL), but he’s also been very productive. Quick skill players can get around him because he’s obviously not fleet of foot but that can be overcome by taking good angles, which he is getting better and better at. You see him as a slow-moving goon because YOU’RE not being objective. You’re looking it at him as a Pens fan who despises the Flyers. He’s paired with one of the most saavy defenseman in the league (Timonen) and it’s developing his game nicely. He’s never gonna be Paul Coffey or Erik Karlsson, but he can be close to an Adam Foote (eventually). Schenns only 23, was thrown to the wolves in Toronto, and is still developing. Over the next few years he will become an excellent stay-at-home defenseman.

Well the flyers could always suck for an entire decade and use the Pittsburgh model of just acquiring top 5 picks and hoping their cross state rival helps them remain in their city cause of financial worries currently Edmonton is trying this we’ll see how it works out for them

He has been very good. He has lapses in judgement but he is far better than you think. Every player has flaws and he is still young and growing his game. With the injury to mez he has been playing big minutes important mins. Maybe you should watch a game that isn’t fogged by Pitt biased. It’s sad when Pitt accepts diving as a normal acceptable play. The game was handed to Pitt in the Thor period and they were out worked and outplayed. You mock schenn but yet Cindy was -3 his line -10 combined maybe they should work on their postioning.

The flyers suck. They are admittedly a matchup problem for the Penguins. Part of that is the NHL lets mongoloids like Sean couturier slash Malkin eight times times before giving Malkin a penalty before giving him one back. Shocker, Malkin gets the penalty. That’s the nonsense that happens all over the ice in most of their games. They like this nonsense go on between the Flyers and the Pens, and that does a disservice to the more talented team.

But look how this Flyers team performs against the rest of the league. NJ skunked them easily in the playoffs. They have 8 wins and the season is about a week or so from being half over. Their goalie blows, the defense is poor. Da bess player in da worl, Claude Giroux, is like 43rd in points.

Scott Hartnell would win them the President’s Trophy though, right? Lose on losers.

Pitt shouldn’t criticize anyone’s defense. Letang is a joke defenseman who is way overrated. And after him it gets even worse. Schenn is way underrated and has been solid all year. The high stick to Neal was halariously displayed by him and should have been called diving as well. It was like he was smacked by the hand of god with the way he threw himself to the ice.

I love Philly fans and their “bad call defense” . They are in the top 3rd in the NHL in penalties , last I heard they were at 80. Sounds like an in disciplined team that consistently puts their team at a disadvantage every game. Anyone who thinks Vokoun played well last night hasn’t watched much hockey.

In football you have a shut down corner,in baseball you have the ace that stops losing streaks ,in basketball who cares,in hockey you need a goalie that is exactly built for tonight’s game a let down game that keeps a goose egg on the board till you get one late and win the game 1 -0 ! Bryz is not that goalie if you smell what Iam cooking here he will not carry a team to a cup ! I don’t like his style never did,the puck hits him he dose not save the puck ! You never see him make a great glove save his glove save is the puck hitting the wrist of of the catchers mitt !

The refs gave the pens the game in the 3rd?

So they shouldnt have called two high stickings (one of which drew blood) or the closing your hand on the puck? Those are black and white rules and they were the aboslute right calls, whether you wanted them to call them or not.

Vokoun let in 3 goals no NHL goalie should allow.

That being said, it was an exciting game of hockey…just wish the pens could have come out on top.
