Feb 20, 2013, 11:38 PM EDT

It’s pretty self-explanatory. Hockey’s top five coaching confrontations, which was discussed by the NHL Live panel. No Mike Milbury in the top five, but former Abbotsford Heat bench boss Jim Playfair ruins a brand new jacket.

The late Marc Potvin had a phenomenal meltdown when he was coaching the Springfield Falcons. I forgot who they were playing, but after numerous questionable calls against the Falcons Potvin lost it. He started grabbing players sticks (like playfair) and throwing them on the ice, along with water bottles. When he finally left the bench after his game misconduct, he grabbed all the extra sticks lined up and threw them all on the ice, then his jacket too.

The worst part for the Falcons was all of the sticks that were thrown on the ice were put in the penalty box. They ended the game with only about 12 players and 9 sticks. The last few line changes players were handing off sticks as they left the ice.

Herb Brooks and Jacques Demers tops all of these.
