They were never particularly rough games with the Bruins. The Lucic/Miller incident was an exception to the rule. Kaleta (out one game and a fight in the other) has been slightly better behaved, Ott has been invisible and Gaustad is gone; hence the lack of fireworks. Scott doesn't do anything he really doesn't. Lucic does that it's not because of Scott. Scott will never fight Lucic, Chara, Mcquaid,etc... He can't protect Vanek and co cause he can't be on the ice long enough. He is there to fight the other teams tough guy; that's it. No other trade is worth it for the Bruins or any other team. IF someone on the B's did something questionable AND it happened to be the 90 seconds a game he was on the ice they wouldn't drop the gloves; let the idiot jump someone and negate the penalty. There is a reason he has been on like 5 teams in 5 years. He is not good. at all. like terrible. He is useless. a wasted roster space. there is too much skill in the NHL now for guys like this. he is a novelty. That's why guys like Thornton, Neil, Prust and Boll so useful. You can run them out there 8-10 minutes a night and not kill your team. I really don't understand the love affair with Scott. If the NHL was the MMA Scott would be my #1 pick. He is the best fighter in the league. He also happens to be the worst hockey player in the league.

I would have kept McCormick and waived Hecht and added Porter to take the place of Hecht...Scott has one purpose and he does it...he levels the playing field in terms of toughness. Have you not noticed the 3 Boston games have been calm ever since Scott put Thornton out, very little pushing and shoving after play is over. Lucic has been non-existent as far as physical play goes. Tonights game against Toronto I see Toronto roughing it up because Orr and Scott neutralize each other and Buffalo has no one to answer Mclaren. You also then have Brown and Frazier to deal with. Without Scott the Sabres would be pummeled pitifully.

yet they kept John Scott? at least McCormick can skate. I would rather have 6+ minutes of McCormick than 2-5 of Scott. The Sabres are just a terrible organization. makes me happy.

Big move Darcy!!!! Bring up Porter, that should straighten this team out. Get rid of the dead weight you moron like Stafford, Hecht (another smart signing), Gerbe (lots of heart but accomplishes nothing) and all your soft defencemen who let guys 30 lbs lighter out fight them for the puck.

The worst part about this is, we all knew he was waived before he did...dysfunctional team or what?

Next time you wave a guy, do it before you send him out for practice.
