I take my comment back. Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Hansen leaves his feet when he popped Andrew Ference in the head, while in Boston’s side of the neutral zone. Looking at where Vancouver’s goalie is looking, the puck is in Vancouver’s zone.

One time doesn’t make a guy dirty, but this is not the first time. The kid’s dirty.

Yes, he had to jump up (leading with his elbow) to get that puck that was at Hossa’s hip level at the time!

Do you think this could help lead an effort to get rid of the ‘hard edged’ elbow pads they wear now?

No offense but being completely impartial this doesn’t seem like a dirty hit at all…actually the contact seems extremely incidental until you slow it down. The first time I saw the video in real-time I thought surely Hossa was diving. I do wonder how this wasn’t a penalty until Toews said it was – that is what I got from the replay also.
