They will get more support than they can handle if they play like they actually care if they win or lose. Sabres fans aren’t dumb enough to support players who don’t give a crap about how they play.

I’ve lived in two other NHL cities and followed hockey for 50+ years. Buffalo fans are very supportive of their team winning or losing. Its ben going on too long and Buffalo fans have become less tolerant with a new owner whose got $$$$. This is the best opportunity in decades to put a decent team together and make a serious run for the cup.

Let see what Ted Black can do. I expect Darcy Regier to be fired tomorrow.

I was at that Toronto game…I don’t recall any boos. But they were booed LOUDLY at the Islanders game a couple weeks later. Pens fans don’t boo easily…but they had HAD it at that point. I didn’t join in, but didn’t blame them either.

They have the league’s leading scorer and one of the top goaltender’s in the league. They’re not below average, they’re just not meeting expectations. At this point, I’d be more concerned it they *weren’t* pissed about the way they were playing.

It’s the fans right to be dissatisfied. Positive thinking by the fans will not turn the team around. As for the negative atmosphere.. We sell out games all the time! The players should realize you have blue collar fans who are paying60-200$ for tickets. They can boo yell or do whatever they want.. We are sick of sub par teams. We aren’t wallowing in self pity and what player would want to play for fans who willfully accept mediocrity? Buffalo fans want and deserve a winner!

Penguins fans booed their team in the Toronto game. They weren’t playing well. But they have turned it around. It comes from the players first. The coach can only do so much. This nonsense notion that the players need a pat on the back from the fans when they are losing is silly. Hey guys, great effort. Effort doesn’t get you into the post season, and a chance at the cup. Winning does. And right now, outside of Vanek, Hodgson, and Miller, this team is dead in the water. They just aren’t very good.

Im a Sabres fan to but I know when to separate bad hockey from good hockey! The Sabres are below average. Seems like Buffalo needs to clean house.

You know, a lot of people crap on Miller for speaking his mind, but I like it. I like the fact that there’s an athlete out there who isn’t just recycling the same cliche’s in every interview. He really cares, and it shows every time he talks.

And it really is a shame to see Ruff like this. Admittedly, I don’t see a lot of Sabres games, but he’s been there forever. Sabres fans know better than I do about their team, but you never like to see a guy with as long of a tenure as his be turned on (for lack of a better term).

Sure, Miller can say things like that when he gives up 2. Did he say the same when he gave up 4 to Montreal and got pulled?

Just kidding!!!! He’s been the reason they’re not getting blown out. Something just isn’t t right in Sabers Land. To me, it’s defensive breakdowns that strain his game. Devils are having the same issues recently. Devils will figure it out (they always do) sooner than later. But can Sabers do it? Not so sure. Also not so sure a coaching change is the solution. In Buffalo, the GM has to bare responsibility. Coach… Not so much.

With how poisonous the atmosphere was in that arena tonight if this team is going to get it together its going to be on a road trip just like last year when they escaped to the west coast and pulled it together. Blame the lockout, blame the coach, blame the GM, I don’t care who you blame if you think calling for heads and booing your team off the ice is going to do anything other than help the team flush its way to the basement don’t go to the games. This team needs support but the city of buffalo is too busy wallowing in self pity and calling for a rebuild. They want to rebuild but what player is going to sign in a city that boos its players, what player would waive a no trade clause for that. Get your head out of the sand and have a beer or two less next time.

I definitely think Ruff is a major part… But these guys are pros there is no excuse for no effort. A bad game plan is one thing.. But a lack of motivation? These guys are professional athletes

I thinks @Kgun80 is going a little too far. Sure this team isnt giving 100 percent, but i kind of understand. yes, they are getting paid regardless and should try. But these players hate their boss (Ruff). It is evident. The team has enough talent, they just aren’t performing because they are disgruntled by their bench boss. Anyone who has ever had a boss they hated understands that.
