I mean, Giroux is extremely talented without a doubt, don’t get me wrong. But you can’t just go around saying stuff like this because he has one good game, and not expect a response. Next thing you know, people are gonna be calling him the best player in the world because he gets hot at the right time and has a few good games! Oh, wait…………..

As for Read, you’re right he is probably one of the more unsung players in the entire NHL. And there’s no question he’s been the Flyers most consistent performer so far. But that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate him in Philadelphia. He’s not flashy like Giroux or Briere and he’s not a big hitter like Schenn or Simmonds, he just goes out and plays solid two-way hockey on every shift. He’s somewhat like Pascal Dupuis in that he doesn’t get a ton of recognition but he’s always contributing somethingpositive. The reason I posted up above is because Giroux finally showed what we all expected yesterday. It doesn’t take anything away from the other key performers, it’s just nice to see him walking the walk after talking the talk. Read, being so consistent, wasn’t the big story yesterday. Doesn’t mean he’s not integral to the Flyers success.

Change of subject – it’s a wonder we never hear you guys talk about Read. He’s the most consistent guy on the squad. I understand that he wasn’t a first round pick and you can’t claim he’s the anticrosby, but it didn’t take ONE good game to give him the same number of points as Giroux, and more goals. That guy deserves a little credit – his performance has had nothing to do with Giroux’s ups and downs that you describe above.

And to say that they are way better than their record indicates isn’t entirely true, you do realize their defense is below average and they’ve struggled to score goals consistently. You are what your record is.
