Sure, preferential treatment. Like there is some conspiracy to give all the calls to the Pens. NHL officials and all the referees are in agreement, and have sworn themselves to secrecy so the conspiracy to give the Cup to the Pens won’t get out.

The games are 60 minutes long, and you have to play for the full 60 minutes, especially against a talented team like the Pens. Nobody “deserved” two points, you earn them.

One of the best goaltenders on the planet is being wasted on a team that gave John Scott money and traded away Derek Roy. Yeah, they needed some grit and toughness, but at the expense of being able to score goals. What’s even more wasted, Vanek is having his best start so far.

I don’t see the pens getting away with anymore than others teams do…. I think they get that from rival fans because the pens are a good team, therefor a target. Although fluery knocked he net off it wasn’t intentional. At the point the net came off Vanek’s was not even close to wrapping the puck in

Buffalo Mafia is 12-20, and is one of the stupidest things to come out of this city in a while. Before we start “Nick-naming” our fanbase, maybe we should put a team worth rooting for on the field/ice. Maybe you should be GM for a day so you can totally drive these two franchises into the ground because you obviously know what you are talking about. Buffalo has some of the most die-hard and knowledgable fans, unfortunatley those are not the people that inhabit these message boards. I’m a die-hard fan of both the Sabres and Bills, however, I am an objective fan of both sports as a whole. This isn’t fanstasy draft on Madden or EASHL in NHL, it’s real life. first off, this is hardly a tirade, i mean its barely “emotional” even. secondly, watching the game, i dont get where this is coming from necessarily…its not like the sabres had it in the bag at any point and just imploded. pens stopped playing for 40 mins after it was 2-0 to start. the dupuis goal that tied it was result of pittsburgh’s skill taking over….letang is just nasty, not too much anyone couldve done about that pass. pens play down to their opponents too often, sometimes it bites them, just not this time. it comes down to the fact that crosby and his linemates were just dominant yesterday, which seems to be a trend against miller’s sabres. maybe thats where the frustration comes from – crosby owns miller, especially on national tv.

Fleury was scrambling to the other post. Miller has neeeever done that(rolling my eyes).Both teams were 1-4 on the power play, including a nice 2 minute 5 on 3 for Buffalo. Man, you are so right. Total preferential treatment. Just be happy Washington lost again so you can stay out of the basement.

Please don’t overrate the save. It was clear that Neal did not get everything he had behind the shot. He was laughing about it afterwards with Crosby. The only greatness on that play were the two passes made by 87 and 71 entering the zone. It is incredible how effortless they made it look.

Kaleta is a good defensive forward he may not score but guess what? You need more than goal scorers.. Did you actually watch the game? Kaleta hits blocks shots and does a ton of dirty work. He’s a good role player.. There’s a lot of other guys like Gerbe Stafford Hecht and 3 d men who could definitely be cut before him

Except, Buffalo had the last power play of the game with 7 minutes to go in the third period of a 3-3 tie. Unless you expected to refs to pick up the puck and throw it in the pens net to allow you guys to win, I don’t know what better chance they could have given you.

You know, I hate the Sabres (Bruins fan; I’m pissed that the only two regulation losses we have yet have come against them), but Miller has stood on his head in every game I’ve seen him play in this year, only to have the defense be completely atrocious and the only high point basically being the Vanek line. If there’s anybody who ought to be this angry, it’s Miller.

It was a wraparound Vanek was behind the net no one was near Fleury… He kicked it right off.. Whether he did it due to his momentum of moving left to right it’s a delay of game against any other team. And sorry every one is well aware of the junk they get away with. Just because Sid actually got called for a penalty for once doesn’t change the fact that they get preferential treatment everyone outside of Pittsburg can see it. The 3 on 5 happened because of 2 blatant easy calls. I know Buffalo blew it but don’t pretend these guys don’t get away with a lot.

Let’s be honest here the sabers crashing in to the Pens goal every other shift caused the net to come off. I like to see aggressive hockey so I’m not complaining but don’t blame The Pens for that. Watch the replays you will see it. Sabers tackled Neal and got away with a lot in that game. The officials let a lot go both ways. One Buffalo goal was on a 5 on 3 so don’t say they didn’t get any calls. Buffalo got out scored in a great, hard fought close game. That’s hockey and it happens. This could have went either way.

I’d be curious to find out why Ott thinks they “deserved the two points”? I think when you say that it implies that you thought you played significantly better than the other team, which really wasn’t true. I mean, they rallied and put up a heck of a fight to come back, but the whole reason they were in a hole in the first place is because the Pens played the game from the drop of the puck while the Sabres came to the game half way through the first period. Then the Pens continued to put a ton of shots on goal to rally back and get the late goal which gave them the win. It was a great game to watch, but you really don’t deserve 2 points whenever you fall apart in the last 10 minutes of the game and never showed up to play the first 10.
