Hodgson’s offense has overshadowed his horrendous play in his own zone. Statistically, he’s been one of the worst defensive forwards in the NHL. Amazing when you can play on a line with the NHL’s leading scorer and have a negative +/-.

I’d agree – except that they significantly overpaid for at least a few of those pieces. When you overpay, you don’t have money for “a few more weapons.” They are sitting right at next year’s cap already.

Great hard-fought win. Still, how do you blow a 2 goal lead to Buffalo? Great effort by Dupuis and Crosby. Looks like they’re back! Fleury was outstanding in the 3rd, even when he just kept getting pounded with shots, he held the fort. I still don’t agree with starting him today. I would have started Vokoun today and make sure Fleury is nice and rested for Philly Wednesday. Great work by Paul Martin, and Shero should keep him as long as possible. With the way Martin has been playing, he has worked really hard and looks just like the old Paul Martin. All the same, let’s beat those bastard Flyers on Rivalry Wednesday!!! Nice 4-3 win!!!

Not sure about Vanek, he started out hot last year also. He is definitely a great player, but not on the level of Sid or Geno.

How the hell is Buffalo 6-9-1? Vanek is the real deal, Miller is as good as any Goalie out there, and they play aggressive. Saber management needs to get a few more weapons and this team can be scary.

Good game .. Bad start killed them. Buffalo had the opportunity but they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Pominville ( a guy who usually makes the right play) dumps a backward blind pass while leaving the zone and basically hands them the game tying goal. Fleury definitely stood on his head for a little while there gotta give him credit he’s good in the crunch.

Can Pittsburgh get through a game with out having to kill off a 5 on 3 power play? That being said both teams played well and Buffalo can really crash the net. They crashed the net, the goalie, the defenseman, and petty much anything else that got in there way. They play hard and aggressive and that was a fun game to watch. Crosby finally looks like he is back with a 5th 3pt game this month. Let’s go Pens🐧❗
