The Hawks are just playing solid hockey right now. When they aren’t turning it over in their end they are playing the best D that I can remember. I don’t see any team beating them in a seven games series.

Not a born and raised Blackhawks fan but I love when their games are on. Very exciting team to watch.

Taking the whole peaking too soon way to literal. Just a talking point for the media. Some teams will run out of gas come playoff time. Mind boggling, yes. Seen it happen. Whereas some teams will seem to peak right before the playoffs. Thus getting a good roll into the post season. That is assuming no team can keep that kind of pace the entire season. Probably very possible with the shortened season.
Either way, I would be very surprised to hear about a coach making any mention of this to thier team. Just something for us to read about and discuss in hindsight.

Yeah, I can see Joel Quenneville saying it in the locker room right now: “Well, we don’t wanna get too hot and peak too soon, so I want you guys to go out there and lose these next couple games. You know, just to give Vancouver another shot at the Presidents trophy.”

I didn’t know there was such a thing as “peaking too soon.” Why would it be undesirable to hit the ground running in the first few weeks and jumping out to first place? Now they’re looking back at the rest of the league. And if they really are “peaking too soon,” are they supposed to fix it by losing games? Winning games and looking good while doing it isn’t something you should want to fix.

No team as been more impressive so far
How do you know they have actually “peaked”?
This team isn’t as good as the Championship squad not that it matter.
He will get it together when they are big games, but the Kings need it game in game out

That was one of the hawks tighter games yet. Their penalty kill looked very 2012 today. Those 2 stupid penalties totally changed the momentum of the game.The Kings almost had them there at the end. Great game to watch though! I’d love to see the Hawks come away with the record and beat 2007 Anaheim. They have a really great group of guys! It’ll be a lot easier if they have Crawford between the pipes, tough, so hopefully he comes back soon.
