Hartnell is extremely important to the PP and just keeping people away from Giroux in general. The defense hasn’t been all that bad, the problem (and it killed us last night) has been turnovers in the defensive zone and neutral zone. Timonen, usually sound with the puck, throws a pass right to Kovalchuks stick and he finds Elias wide open in the slot for the tying goal. That play changed the complexion of the game. And it happens all too often. Plus necessary adjustments don’t happen- ie continually dumping the puck in the offensive zone despite the fact that Brodeur played EVERY dump right back out. How can Laviolette keep having them follow a gameplan when the Devils are countering it perfectly? I thought we had Andy Reid on the bench last night.
