Perhaps Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla listened when former teammate Rhett Warrener blasted his “complete level.”*
Iginla dropped the gloves with Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel on Wednesday:
The aging winger also has two assists so far in a game that the Flames currently lead 6-4. Sounds like he’s bringing a respectable amount of “compete” to the table so far.
* – Warrener talks about how Iginla is slowing down without ever noting that he’s 35. Seems a bit unfair.

Iggy is all compete!!! Every single team in the league would take this guy at the drop of the hat.

He came close to getting in a second fight late in the 3rd as well. TSN asked him about the criticism after the game and typical Iggy he handled it with complete class.

This guy knows how to do one thing and that’s compete. I get what Warrener was saying but he misspoke. Iginla simply isn’t the same player he was 3, 4, 5 years ago and you can see it on every shift, but he hasn’t lost any of that competitive fire.

When will Giroux step up? Time from him to take a page from the Captain’s play book. Same for crazy 8.

If someone grabs a visor during an actual fight will the refs tack on another 2 minutes do you think?

Lol anyone else notice Jagr’s face? It was like, “Damn, poor kid thought he stood a chance against Iggy!”
