I’m willing to believe you but what other team has their assistant coach talk on the fluff interviews between periods?

I don’t watch every Isles game (not my team) but I feel like I have seen Weight at least 3x this year. I’ve yet to see Capuano in one of those segments. It’s really bad optics.

Yeah, think he loses $20 million annually so I definitely respect Charles for not selling the team to KC or Seattle like a lot of owners would have.

At the same time, eventually this team is going to have to start spending above the cap floor if they ever want to get anywhere. Hopefully the prospects are mature by the time we move to Brooklyn and Charles opens his wallet for a big name free agent; or he sells the team someone with deep pockets, like Prokhorov

Not unusual for an assistant to talk between periods. I’d say that Cappy is on the hot seat this season regardless of Weight’s status. He’s had several years to get it turned around. Time to produce.

Plenty of fans who are excited about the talent that Garth Snow has put into the system. This team should be a contender in a few. As to the revenue stream, not sure when the last time was that they made money. For all the abuse he gets, Charles Wang is to be commmended for sticking with this team and keeping it in NY.

Started the season looking like they were ready to contend but lately have looked like a lottery team again. We’ll see what the next few weeks bring.

My favorite part of Islanders broadcasts are the between period interviews with ~~Head Coach Jack Capuano~~ ~~one of the well-performing players~~ Assistant Coach and Special Assistant to the GM Doug Weight. Nothing is more clownish than an assistant coach who's got a direct line to the GM over the head coach. You can practically hear the clock ticking down on Capuano's tenure with every word out of Weight's mouth.

If Cappy thinks some players are soft–and they are–maybe its time to sit a couple and bring up Nino and Matt Donovan. Those guys should get a shot and the softees need a wake up call. Time for accountability.
