there’s no need to “stalk” you, you show up on EVERY single Flyers related page, with baseless insults and asinine conjecture. You seem to care plenty, as the need to instigate arguments and insult the city of Philadelphia (a place you’ve probably never been) has reached the level of a complex. I comment on your posts because they are so insulting, unrealistic, and devoid of fact that to leave them alone would be a disservice to my fellow PHT readers. Your posts are filled with rabid hypocrisy- you don’t care yet you can’t stop sharing your uninformed opinions; you only comment in response to “obnoxious” Flyers fans yet here you are once again on a page that has absolutely nothing to do with the Pens; I give insults but can’t receive, yet here you are doing just that. Try to contribute something worthwhile to any conversation, anywhere on this site, other than just the same stereotypical “the Cryers are dirty cheap shot artists and divers, etc”.

lol its funny cause that article is also based on ticket prices, parking prices, concession (all of which has nothing to do with the team or franchise) as well as TV ratings (pitt was putt on national TV more than any team last year so of course they will have more viewers) and nothing really that has anything to do with the fans.

I guess I should trust the article that says Malkin was drafter the year after Crosby and says Atlanta has bad fans when they do not have a team anymore.
I would rather go to a really hockey site/ magazine and look to see which fan base is ranked higher.

Ahhh…I do appreciate the history lesson – and your concern. But we’re doing very well on this side of the state. Attendence is pretty much 100% night in, night out, the bankruptcy days are long gone, and we topped Forbes list of best NHL fans published last November…followed by Montreal, then Toronto, then Chicago, THEN…you guessed it….Edmonton…nope, no Philly. We also (hopefully) don’t have to worry about trying to make any more deals with a greedy, dirty, stinking-of-bacon-grease-and-mob-ties Governor (who just happened to be from Philly). If you are so wrapped up in history, let’s go back a little further to 1975…sound familiar?

how is that crying. I was simply telling you about the past few years between our franchises for the sections you brought up. I guess it was all in how you read it but take the message how you want.

No clue why you think I ever said the pens are a better team than the Flyers. I said you guys had some good drafts due to having a bad team, tanking when you did not make the playoffs and Gary Bettman wanting to do what ever he could to save the franchise from being sold because they were costing the league millions of dollars a year since no fans wanted to support the team. The Flyers constantly stayed a good team since we could afford any player we want as free agents because our fans have always been there which is why we are compared to other fan bases who are known for being the best fans in the league like Montreal and Toronto, while when pitt is talked about they are compared to fan bases like the caps.

ummm when the pens tanked to get malkin (actually I think they were aiming for AO but did only managed to get the 2nd overall pick), they were sitting some of their better players near the end of the year when they were healthy… Philly is still in contention for a playoff spot. Tanking a season is when you lose on purpose like the pens did.

In case you did not know crosby was a draft pick during the lockout so that lotto was created by Gary. Oddly enough Mario already had a room ready for Crosby after visiting him and talking to him WELL BEFORE the lotto happened.

So yeah the pens managed to get MAF, Malkin, Crosby and Staal in 4 years due to having crappy seasons and some help behind the scenes, not bad huh. Philly traded for most the players you mentioned, Giroux they got late in a draft and JVR was our one bad year where Philly was the worst team in the league (still had the 7th best attendance in the league which was a lot higher than Pitt) and they did not get to get Kane like their paly deserved because of the same lotto.

Holy crap…you guys say you hate him, then act all hurt because we got him. You are doing a good job of tanking this year too…you can get McKinnon if you want. But you have Schenn, a high first round center that was brought in to early, you have Couturier, a high first round center that was brought in too early, you have Laughton, you have Giroux, all first round centers…you HAD JVR who looks like a beast now that he’s out of a bad organization…what more do you want? There’s just no reason to start the whole ‘you tanked to get picks’ thing, you guys have a lot of talent on that team.

This case I do see a cross-check in the back, but little more than a firm bump. Certainly nothing that should have ended with a major penalty. And certainly no suspension. I do, however, see a penalty.

I do think (since we’ve talked about this poor guy two games in a row now) that Peter needs to sit him down and talk to him…you know, so he doesn’t get hurt. There’s some onus on the lad.

The arrogant, aloof attitude of Pens fans is just disgusting. You and hockeywithdrawal wrote the PHT book on trolling. Apparently humility and modesty are unheard of traits in the city of Pittsburgh. A city where it’s so easy to be a bandwagon, fair weather fan because you’re unfairly rewarded for giving up on your team. A city where hockey was dead before the chronic plague of losing handed you two superstars. You didn’t need to build a team, you had one dropped in your lap after every single Pens “fan” turned off their tvs and avoided the igloo at all costs. You would’ve rather gone to a Pirates game than sit through that embarrassment you called a hockey team. Now all of a sudden you’re the authority on franchise success? No you’re a faithless joke who only sticks with his team when it’s easy; when they’re on top. At the first sign of trouble you’ll be back in your western PA hole, hiding for another decade. To be fair, the pens earned Malkin. They were near last and then they decided tank toward the end of the year for him.

But yeah Crosby was a gift from Gary because he knew if the pens didn’t get him they would have been sold and moved to a city with a fan base that can support a team.

Are you so bitter because the Pens were nothing more than an AHL franchise skating around the NHL prior to 1990 and the only reason they exist today is because they intentionally lost games to draft Mario Lemieux?
