It's physically hard to watch this team play this way on the road when you know how good they can be. They are such a talented team and really increased they're expectations of how good they can be this year, while at home wining 5 in a row. It's so much easier to watch a team be bad all around when you expect that of them, but when you expect them to win, or at least be competitive, against good teams, such as the Rangers and Devils, and they play like that it is so frustrating. I keep hearing Guy Boucher say in his interviews that their film looks good from the previous 2 losses, its refreshing to hear that he is at least hes noticing the horrible play in this last game. Hopefully these guys can figure it out because the players that have looked the worst are the St. Louis and Purcells, who have carried the teams play during offensive slumps by stammer and Vinny in the past. This team needs to learn that coming back in the 3rd period is not an option against these teams that are at their best when playing with a lead. This team is very resilient and talented though and will come around, just hopefully in this shortened season, sooner rather than later.

As a Lightning fan and hockey player who grew up with a dad who was a coach, it's very aggravating to see their play on the road. You can't come out with your tail between your legs on someone else's sheet and expect to win a game - that's just what they've done. You can watch them sit back and let the play be determined by their opponent. That's just what they did in their last game in Tampa when they fell to the Rangers. The Lightning win games by being in your face. They have two lines of near limitless scoring power and the objective should always be to drive that through their throats while keeping tabs on your defense. Instead, they don't come out on the attack. They come out to the playground waiting for the other guy to swing first.

Now that can work from time-to-time...but when you don't respect opponents like the Devils, Flyers, and Rangers, you end up with three losses...they would have totally lost to the Bruins as well - make no doubts about that and thankfully it was cancelled.

Now they will retreat back home, humiliated by their most recent loss. I think this is a good thing. It's a wake up call to the Lightning that they need to change their mentality on the ice. With the strong veteran presence in the room and pure talent level, they will have no trouble bouncing back. The team broke down over this trip. They'll have a few games to try and work on those travelin' blues before having to go back out. Hopefully they've learned some lessons here and their frustrations as a team bring them together to embarrass their opponents as they've done each game before the skid.

Find it hard to believe that they don't have a more up to date photo of Stamkos. They didn't wear that Jersey last nor this year. Then again its not the first photo I have seen that isn't up to date on this site.

Better figure out how to win on the road or they are not going to go anywhere fast, even with a so/so division this year.
