Watch: Ducks’ Staubitz ejected for spearing

Feb 8, 2013, 10:18 PM EDT

Anaheim Ducks winger Brad Staubitz was kicked out of Friday’s game against the Dallas Stars for spearing Stars’ blue liner Brenden Dillon.

The incident occurred in the first period, as Dillon was playing the puck from point into the Ducks corner. Charging out to the blue line, Staubitz drove his stick through the legs of Dillon and up, dropping the defenseman. Staubitz was given a major for spearing and a game misconduct.

The family took a big hit on this one. Total class-free move that deserves a suspension.

I’m sure he’ll get something for this, since he’s not a Red Wing that is….

Honestly, it does not look that bad. It looks like he did it on accident. You can tell how he holds the position of the stuck after it happens and has a kind of “oh sh*t” look on his face. Dangerous thing though.
