28-year-old defenseman Chris Campoli hasn’t been able to find an NHL contract for the shortened season. As a result, he’ll spent the remainder of 2012-13 in Switzerland. He’s played in 440 NHL games and had 11 points in 43 contests with Montreal last season. (Sportsnet)

Back when current Washington Capitals coach Adam Oates and Penguins coach Dan Bylsma were members of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2002-03, they used to routinely talk hockey for an hour or two before dinner. (Washington Times)

New Jersey Devils forward Adam Henrique has confidence that his former teammate, Andrei Loktionov, will be a member of the Devils soon. New Jersey acquired forward Loktionov, 22, from the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, but sent him to the minors for now. (New Jersey Online)

Yes, the Washington Capitals have been struggling terribly, but don’t expect them to do something as drastic as trading captain Alex Ovechkin. (Washington Post)

21-year-old forward Ryan Spooner has excelled in the minors, but his first stint with the Boston Bruins was brief. After making his NHL debut on Wednesday, he’s back in the AHL. (Bruins.nhl.com)
