The National Hockey League has announced that Saturday’s game between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lighting at the TD Garden will be moved from 1 p.m. ET to 7 p.m. due to weather concerns.

Winter Storm Nemo is expected to move from the Great Lakes area into the New England area by Saturday, and blizzard warning are already in effect for Boston and surrounding cities.

Reports suggest record snowfalls could hit the area, with Weather.com claiming some areas of coastal New England could see as much of three feet of accumulation.

The Lightning played in New Jersey on Thursday and flew into Boston immediately following the game to avoid the storm.

According to the Boston Globe, more than 2,700 flights have already been canceled because of Nemo.

Thanks for posting! So now a commercial entity is naming storms? How long before the storms get sponsors? “Back to our coverage of Barf Soda Storm Waldo, the storm that refreshes thirsty snow shovelers…”

Yeah nemo! Blocking shots and flights.

what the hell is going on in that picture?

Why have we started naming winter storms at all? In Canada 3 feet of snow is a Tuesday and never once have the blizzards been named. Stick to hurricanes!

They may want to consider playing this game on Sunday….and no, it’s not because there’s no football and being a Bruins fan it would be great….

    Just saying….

just sayng… you must not be a very good bruins fan to not know they are already playing in Buffalo Sunday. Now, question is will they get a flight out flr that game…..

Son, I remember listening to a too many men on the ice penalty against the Habs in ’79 that cost them a shot at the cup. Don’t question my loyalty to the Bs. I was joking.

If they do make it to Buffalo, they’ll put the sticks and the checks to your boys in a hurry to avenge their only loss. Then again, how much avenging can you do against a team that’s only won once since.

Take Scott Norwide and the Dallas no-goal and stick them both up your nose!

That being said, can someone explain to me why there is only one game on the slate for tonight?
