everything you say is still right. Lets just remember that TT wasn't some unreal goaltender in the playoffs the few tries prior. Of course I thank him for what he gave the city of boston. But its no secret his time here was done. I certainly trust rask as the backstop. Will we ever see a playoffs like thomas had? probably not.

And the defense was poor. Thomas gave up 6 to the Sabres last year. Rask is still one of the tops in the league in GAA. Last 120 minutes he gave up just one goal. You obviously have no knowledge of what is going on in Boston.

Gotta admit the only reason they won the Stanley Cup is cause of Tim to say he was lights out in the playoffs
Is an understatement....the jury is still out on Rask he did give up 7 goals to the Sabres last week

Boston fans having no respect? Let me remind you he walked out on the team with a year left on his contract. He deserves the hatred he gets from some fans. And a whole lot of fans in Boston still like him. So don't just assume Boston fans have just turned their backs on the guy and hate him, or treat him cruelly.

Good for Boston. Best get rid of him now an not put up with his crap because Tukka, Khudobin, and M. Subban are your future and are much better than that headcase. He needs to shut his yap and focus on stopping the puck. He WAS a good goalie, but after his emotional bullcrap, he won't be the same. Smart move by Pete and the B's. Dumb move by NYI. That's $75.25 million spent on goalies alone. YIKES!! (67.5 of that was...dare I say it...Lord of the Busts Rick DiPietro)

About the cap space, you never know, maybe Boston will try to shake things up. Setoguchi's name keeps being thrown around, and it would be something to see Lucic AND Devin flank Krejci. Scary. The weirdest scenarios I can think up of are Iginla coming to Boston (but he might just blossom) and maybe a guy by the name of Phil Kessel could throw on the black and gold one more time!!

I can't help but start thinking about potential line-ups. Sometimes, adding the big name does not have the desired effect but I think that Iginla is an exception to that. A big, physical, skilled, quiet vet on this Bs team would fit in PERFECTLY. He would have to be on the first or second line, right? My immediate thought is moving Marchand to a line with Kelly and Peverley but not sure how I feel about that. His skill set fits on that line but I think he thrives with a larger role. Will try an temper excitement for now...

Why do Isle's fans care about this? It has no effect on anything except that is gives your team more flexibility. They don't have to pay TT anything in real money, they aren't going to lose a draft pick, etc. All it does is allows them to make a move if one comes up. Before this, they were strapped by the cap floor. Jeez...try running a team that has limited funds (because of a small fan base compared to other teams). Want to make bigger, more meaningful deals? Get more fans. Maybe Brooklyn will help..
