Getty Images All systems are go for Lubomir Visnovsky to make his New York Islanders debut.
Per Newsday’s Arthur Staple, the 36-year-old defenseman has passed his physical and will practice with the team Friday, opening the possibility he could play Saturday at home to Buffalo.
Visnovsky had been suspended by the Islanders for failing to report to training camp after he attempted (unsuccessfully) to stay in the KHL for the rest of the season.
In the summer, he tried to void the trade that sent him from Anaheim to Long Island.
