Makes perfect sense to me..especially with Visnovsky. If he doesn’t want to play in NY and is a bad asset for that team, then they can get rid of him and still be above the floor, which is necessary. If they didn’t have Thomas, they couldn’t do that. It also gives them other options, should something present itself. They aren’t held hostage to the cap floor and they don’t actually have to pay TT anything this year, or ever perhaps, if they trade him.
