He was a big contributor on the penalty kill last year, blocked shots reguarly & was a solid forechecker. He has been none of that yet this year. He can contribute, no need to send him packing.

Its not just that he isn’t scoring… he hasn’t looked good at all. His play has been choppy, and hes been careless with the puck at times. Also, while hes not suppose to be the Rangers main scoring threat he is expected to contribute a bit on offense. Hes had 61 points over the last two years… and only one point in nine games this year (on pace for 10 points in an 82 game season). Hes also averageing less then a shot per game, which is a huge drop from the 383 shots hes had over the last two seasons.

Theres no doubt Boyle isn’t playing good, and there is nothing at all wrong with sitting him for a game. Its not going to hurt the Rangers, and might even do Boyle some good.

Yes, blame Boyle for your offensive woes. That makes perfect sense. Maybe sitting a guy who isn’t supposed to score will motivate the players who are supposed to score to actually score. Scapegoating at it’s finest.
