Avalanche’s Duchene: ‘Make a play every now and then’

Feb 7, 2013, 2:30 AM EDT

Matt Duchene of the Colorado Avalanche sounded off on his team’s lack of scoring, following a 3-0 loss to the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday.

The Avalanche, with two wins in their last seven games, have been shutout three times now this season. The Avalanche outshot the Ducks 31-20 but couldn’t solve goalie Viktor Fasth, who recorded his first NHL shutout.

“We have to figure out a way to score, that’s the bottom line,” Duchene added to the “I mean, getting shut out three times in 10 games is unacceptable.”

Horrendous game – despite the number of shots, Fasth didn’t have to work too hard to pitch the shutout. They better get this O’Reilly deal done so he can get on the ice in time for Monday’s game and maybe Landeskog will be ready after the extra days off.
