Now as for changing the way he’s going to play, look there’s nothing wrong with playing physical and even being a bit of a instigator/nuisance… just clean it up is all anyone cares about. The hit on Hossa maybe would have been boarderline ok if he wouldn’t have launched himself into Hossa’s head. Make the hit, shoulder to shoulder or shoulder to chest even and sure you will probably still end up getting in a fight for it, but you probably don’t get suspended/fined and you don’t earn the cheap shot artist rep.

Now, i’m not Blackhawks fan, but to me it wasn’t about who he hit but how he hit him. If your going to take on one of the skilled players of the other team you know your probably going to eat a knuckle or two for it. Just make it so the guy gets up and can keep playing while remembering to keep his head up and on a swivel.

The first game between the Bruins/Penguins after the Matt Cooke/Marc Savard hit was expected to be a big deal. Cooke fought Thorton early and that was the end of it. Torres was probably fight Bollig early in the game and as long as it doesn’t turn into a blowout game that will probably be the end of it.
