I'll toss my cents in here (recognizing that neither of you ased :))

I think Tangradi is a waste - doesn't skate nearly well enough for his size to be an asset.

I thought Jeffrey played alright on the Malkin line - not great but fine. I don't think he's a top 6 forward however. I agree that the Malkin and Neal line needs a Kunitz-type (or perhaps the man himself) who knows that he's doing.

So far Boychuk has impressed me - plays with speed and has a bit of skill. I think long term he's better suited for Crosby (and bump Duper to the third line - tell TK to take a hike).

Vitale is one of my favorites. Skates, hits, and hustles his pants off every shift. He's not very skilled but he will NOT be out worked.

McDonald didn't protest or anything after Kunitz's late hit on him well after he had the puck so I don't really know what you're talking about there. He was shaken up and eventually skated off the ice but that was a clear penalty.

I'm not saying that Crosby isn't the best player in hockey because he is. Maybe categorizing him as a sissy is unfair but categorizing him as whiny most certainly isn't. Entitled is also a very fair adjective.

"You always hate the great ones"- Don't know what that means. I dislike Crosby because he's about as like-able as Lebron James. I have no problem with Stamkos, Giroux or most marquee players.

I wouldn't trade JT for Crosby, that's for damn sure

i watch him very closely and the kid has no hustle in him, he loses in the corner 2/3 times one on one. his role should be to get in get dirty and free up pucks from the corners for malkin and neal...he doesnt do that effectively - he is weak in that sense. he also doesnt grasp the concept of driving the net on the rush, he draws no one by floating down to the post or wheeling around the net wide. he forces bad passes to guys when he should be shooting, he turns the puck over too much in the offensive zone when he carries it in...either by dumping and not getting there or by dropping it off to someone thats not there. shows me he doesnt have confidence. tangradi just cant finish, he has had plenty of chances, jeffrey just doesnt generate chances period.

Good lord it always comes back to spoiled little momma's boys whining about how Crosby is entitled, blah blah blah. Grow up, son...get it together.

Crosby is a pretty tough little f*cker - he's never asked for any praise from ANY of us, nor has he asked for opinions from the a-hole section where you reside. He just plays hockey.

We can go into Crosby whining and Hamonic diving (which was horrible, but eh, what do you do...if Neal hadn't touched the pansy he wouldn't have had the opportunity to flop) but you know what, that's hockey.

My favorite part was when MacDonald was caught "whining" after Kunitz bumped him...goose and gander, my friend. He needs to be a man and skate his limp as* off the ice...I'm sure you'd agree, right?

I have been to that arena to see the Pens play before and the fans were very nice, respectful, and had a high hockey IQ and I was pleasantly surprised. The stadium is old but very cool in a nostalgic kind of way. I was shocked when I saw that last night. Islander fans you are better then that! Let's go Pens🐧!

Haha yea seriously what a sissy he got hit in the face with a puck squirting blood everywhere and he missed 4 minutes. Honestly people of other team (not the players themselves who call him the best in the game see lupul) but their fans whine more about him then he ever did to the refs in his first few years (when he was 18). Grow up and learn how to handle a loss.

Not proud of the isles fans cheering an injury but it is what it is. The reason you hear "Crosby Sucks" at so many stadiums is not because he actually sucks, but because he is a whiny entitled sissy-b1tch. Literally impossible to like Crosby as an athlete unless your a Pens fan.

"Isles are just mad they won't have a team in year."- You're clearly clueless. Isles are moving to Brooklyn and remaining the New York Islanders. If you are going to have a moronic opinion, at least have an informed moronic opinion.

Agreed - I think we need to keep feeding Despres ego a bit - he's starting to look comfortable and awfully damn good. Still taking too long with the puck to get it up ice but he seems like he's really coachable.

Big fan of Bortuzzo so far. I'm hoping when Niskanen comes back they keep Bortuzzo as the odd man out for injuries and maybe package Lovejoy and Tangradi up and send them away....Jeffrey needs to stay up (actually he needs to be played more too), we need 7 D men, and there's no one else offensively that I'd risk losing on waivers.

I agree - hopefully we can make a deal - even if it just nets us a pick or something I don't think that's bad.

I've been really impressed with Borts so far. He's long, plays solid D and can occasionally chip in on offense. He's still got some work on breakout passes and defensive positioning, but we're not asking him to be perfect in the Top 4.

Any thoughts on Bortuzzo? I think he has a lot to work on, but honestly I don't think it's been half bad? He looks sloppy but seems to be doing the job by looking at the scorecards... 4 GP, 2 Pts, +5 is pretty good on 3rd line D. I'd like to keep him and send Lovejoy far far away.

Fantastic team effort on this one. Penguins decided to mentally review their grocery shopping list for a bit there in the 3rd, but otherwise very solid effort. I had three takeaways/questions from this game:
1) Who takes a seat when Nisky is ready to return? Despres and Bortuzzo have been solid (although in VERY different ways). What about Engo? Or maybe we roll with 7 D Men and lose a forward?
2) Great to see the old Flower do it again - he was all over the place.
3) Glad Crosby was alright and skating hard after the puck to the face. Good for him

That's 2 games in a row against the Islanders where the Pens played most of the 2nd period on the penalty kill. The officiating was ridiculously one sided. If that's the case they should just play a man down the whole period a save us all some time. Pens defense was outstanding! Let's go Pens🐧!

Yeah the cheering when Crosby was face down bleeding on the ice was low class. It was loud to so it was more than a acouple of the barely 11,000 fans in attendance. You could also hear some of the loser chanting "Crosby Sucks" while he was face down and bleeding on the ice. Despicable. I can see cheering if he just got laid out with a body check and went down. That will happen in every arena, but the cheering will also die down after they realize someone is hurt. No excuse for how most of the fans in attendance reacted. Anybody who cheers anyone getting hit in the head with a puck is pretty much useless to the human race.

Move the team to Brooklyn already. Fans can't come out for the biggest draw in the NHL while their own team is young, talented, and playing well..
1) It was as low class as it gets for Isles fans to cheer a guy bleeding all over the ice, given the potentially life-changing consequences of taking a puck near the eyes. I don't care how much I despise them: I don't cheer Giroux or Subban in a situation like that. Pathetic and embarrassing.

2) Martin and Orpik have been just exceptional as a shut-down pair. And they were monsters on the PK tonight, along with Flower.

3) The officials did everything in their power to give the Isles this game - not so much because they made a couple of seriously ticky-tacky interference calls - but because both Sid and Cooke got hooked across the hands with a clean look at the net with nothing. That call always gets made. And the Pens won despite the incompetent officiating. That gives me as much faith in this team as anything.
