NHL schedules disciplinary hearing with CBJ’s Dubinsky

Feb 6, 2013, 9:51 AM EDT

NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan will have a chat with Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky after he shoved Los Angeles Kings defenseman Rob Scuderi into the end boards from behind during Tuesday’s game, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Scuderi collided with the boards face first, but he was able to return to the contest. His teammate, Mike Richards, stood up for him by sparring with Dubinsky.

If you missed the fight or hit, then you can view them both below:

Dubinsky was given major penalties for fighting and boarding and was booted from the contest with a game misconduct. He’s in his seventh NHL season and has no suspension history.

How about interviewing Rinaldo for his cheap head shots last night against Crombeen? Oh. Of course not, NHL. That’s how the game is sold in some cities. Fights are more important than player safety.

a head shot durning a fight??? yeah good one.
well since Rinaldo only hit the guy while he was falling and Lecalvier hit the guy when his head was on the ice I guess Lecalvier would be suspended twice as long.
Please stop being a biased homer and start being a hockey fan first

Doesn’t the hypocrisy of suspending a player for an elbow to the jaw but not for punching someone in the head seem questionable? You can’t concuss someone with an elbow but we’ll let you concuss him by punching his head.
