Oh, believe me, I agree. But then again I think every fight I see when the continue punching when someone is obviously out isn’t good (Hockey and MMA). I’m not sticking up for Vinny or Rinaldo or ANY player. He asked the refs if Crombeen was down while he hit him because HE FELT he did, which shows that he could have stopped and didn’t. Rinaldo knew what he did, Vinny knew what he did, neither got in trouble and I don’t believe they should have gotten in trouble NHL wise. I think their mommies just need to give them a spanking, that’s all.

Oh and when the Lightning are out, I always rout for the Flyers, I don’t know why. The Flyer’s are like a guilty pleasure and extremely entertaining… And I totally miss Hartnell.

If you still think it’s dirty even though the ref said it was clean, email the NHL and see if they can get it through your thick skull.

Was it not retaliation when Rinaldo fought Crombeen for going after our captain?? Oh that’s right, in the mind of the Pens fan the Flyers are dirty no matter what they do. Lecavalier was clean in his retaliation, despite throwing punches while Talbot was on his back. But Rinaldo was dirty in his retaliation because he’s a Flyer. You have no credibility in this discussion when you have such a biased outlook.

I don’t agree with most of what you said, but I will absolutely agree that starting that fight was a terrible idea for Lecavalier. He took himself out for almost the entirety of the rest of the game. And while he was in the box the Lightning had some prime scoring opportunities. They could’ve used him

As for the fight, I said this on the other page, there are plenty of examples of players continuing to throw punches while one combatant goes to his knees. It’s not a rare occurrence. It’s just when a Flyers player does it the whole rest of the league gets up in arms. Rinaldo’s history is no secret. He’s a goon. But when the refs see something wrong with his game they ALWAYS call him on it. And he made a point to ask the ref if Crombeen was down while he hit him, and the refs told him no it was clean. Now refs sometimes have terrible judgement (i.e., the Erskine elbow and the Backes match penalty) but they were both watching that fight closely. And I thought that particular group of officials was very good last night. In my mind it wasn’t dirty. Crombeen was the agitator, he started it, but he sure as hell didn’t finish it.

Haha no “wristing” penalty… it’s called slashing hockeywithdrawal. Players get slashed on the wrists on all the time, sometimes it’s obvious and sometimes it goes unnoticed. Sometimes it’s called and sometimes it isn’t. Just because you didn’t see it through your Penguin glasses doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

“Typically when I’ve gotten into fights with guys in that position, you stop throwing,” Ole BJ is saying that Rinaldo should have stopped hitting him. We call that whining. As far as Crosby whining the same as everyone else, just tells me that you are new to the sport of hockey. When is the last time you heard a player blubbering to the refs to make an announcement for fans to stop throwing hats on the ice after a hat trick?

Such a classless move by Rinaldo. Hitting a guy while he’s injured and down on one knee. Did Talbot hit Calahan when he was hurt? No. Sarcasm alert. I wonder if he’ll get suspended for taking a head shot. The league is trying to protect the players by handing out suspensions for head shots, yet they allow players to punch themselves in the head. Brilliant! With that logic we’ll soon see hospitals selling cigarettes so they can increase their profits.

Especially since 90% of the officials currently have their heads up their @sses. Plus Crombeen engaged him and was a willing participant. And lets not act like this is the first punch thrown when guys are down on the ice. You mean to tell me two guys fought during a hockey game? Oh the humanity!!! No story here, move on.

I dont need an articale, game 7, stanley cup final vs the wings. Crosby bruised his leg and left the game. I have seen people pull their teeth out on a bench and continue playing. Anyway sid took a clearing attempt in the face. its not like he blocked a slap shot like Ian Laperrier who tried to block a slap shot. Did Crosby even shed blood after that puck to the face? I did not see any. looked like he may have had a tiny cut on his nose.
