I disagree. Seguin has look good most nights. He has had plenty of chances but has not converted for what ever reason. His two-way play has been great. He is clearly not the defensive liability he once was. He is stuck on a line that is expected to shut down other top lines first and take whatever offense comes. If he had Lucic or Horton on his line with a presence in front of the net I think his point totals would be different.

Putting Tanguay to the side, Seguin just doesn’t get it. He HAS NOT been playing great. He’s done a lot of weak fly-by’s behind the net and along the boards, while others work and scrum for the puck. He’s been too fine in his maneuver attempts and shots toward the goal (not at or on goal). He can’t burn anyone with his stickhandling, he doesn’t put the puck between the pipes from 11 feet out in the low slot, standing all alone with the goalie. He is drastically underperforming and it appears clear that it is because he feels “it will come to him.” He needs to go out and “get it for himself.” Its about work ethic, fire, determination and letting it go constantly on goal. One empty netter and two decent assists through 20% of the season just doesn’t cut it.

Couldn’t be more right. Tanguay shouldn’t be an “expert” on anything. Celtics either. He’s a radio voice who’s worked his way into analyst territory and he’s just atrocious at it.

I couldn’t watch that whole thing. I don’t even know what he’s saying…”a 21 year old should not be blaming the swiss…he just doesn’t get it…he is who he is…”..What?? It is obvious when someone knows nothing about hockey or the team he is discussing…
