The Leafs have been really bad at home

Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost for the 15th time in their last 18 home games.

Just think about that for a second.

Specifically, think how awful that is.

For context, the Blue Jackets had the worst home record in the NHL last season, at 17-21-3. That’s a win percentage of 40 percent. Three out of 18 equals 17 percent.

“I’m not quite sure what the reason is,” said goalie James Reimer when asked about his team’s home woes, per TSN.ca. “I don’t know if anybody does have the reason.”

The Leafs have even tried to improve the atmosphere at the Air Canada Centre to give the home team a boost. For example, according to the Globe and Mail, they’ve cut down on “those tiresome in-game promotions” this season.

Alas, the Leafs are an NHL-worst 1-4-0 at home, their only win coming last Thursday over the Capitals.

On the bright side, they start a three-game road trip tonight in Washington.
