I agree that the Canes still have more to give. Losing Ruutu has turned out to be an underrated injury because the top lines still aren't settled. Now the Staal's each have to center a line (I'd take that any day because they are each legit 1st and 2nd line centers), and Boychuk, Bowman, Dalpe, and Tlusty have all taken turns in the 1st and 2nd line wings. It's a bit more consistent now with Dwyer producing on the 2nd line, Dalpe sent down and Boychuk obviously in Pittsburgh.

With Ruutu, the Staal's could have been up on the 1st line with Semin, and Ruutu, Jokinen and Skinner could have been a solid 2nd line as well. As it stands, Jokinen is lost on the 3rd line with no points in 8 games, and Semin also only has one goal. Once they sync up a bit more I'd look for a bit more production from everyone mentioned.

Oh yeah, and Eric is on his way to a huge year, if I lived in Raleigh I'd get season tickets to watch him play.

he will get into the teens in goals, maybe break 40 pts. i watched the game last night because there was nothing else on and staal looked the same as he did in pittsburgh...he doesnt get caught, picks his spots to apply his offense, and worked hard one on one battles all over the ice. the amount of shots the hurricanes are taking is just overwhelming (38 per game!?), more of them are gonna start going in if they keep it up, he will get more goals.

Jordon's the real deal - he's never played outside the Pens organization, has 8 points in 8 games, and isn't playing horrible. New system, new responsibilities. The Pens relied on him to play a defensive game, and he still contributed offensively (very well).

If you would like to put some $$ on the 9 goals this season, I'll take the over. There are plenty of big names that STILL haven't scored their first this year.

First goal? Seriously? Like, I get that he's not a big scorer, but that projects to what, nine goals on the year?

Meh, I like the Staals. When I checked the score I was hoping they had all four goals.

But that first goal...that was a distater waiting to happen. Why are there four Leafs in the corner while J. Staal is just waiting for the puck in such a prime location? That was pathetic. That's a mistake your coach gets mad about in peewee.
