It had to end eventually.

The San Jose Sharks had their seven-game winning streak to begin the lockout-shortened regular season snapped in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators.

For the Sharks, it was their third game in a row decided by the breakaway contest. Meanwhile, the Predators have gone to a shootout five times in their first eight games.

Craig Smith, Nashville’s second shooter, scored the only goal in the shootout. Predators goalie Pekka Rinne stopped Michal Handzus, Ryane Clowe and Joe Pavelski.

The Predators’ Sergei Kostitsyn and Sharks’ Martin Havlat traded third period goals to send the game to overtime.

I for one blame Demers! http://youtu.be/TCx-M8dcDhk picture Thornton as “hook” and substitute “press box” for “boo box”

huge win for Nashville. After losing to the likes of Columbus and Anaheim in SO’s, the law of averages swings back in our favor on the road @ LA and SJ.

Suck on this, Sharks fans: the Preds just won that without their 2 best offensive forwards, Hornqvist and Erat.

05-06 Preds still hold western conf record for best start of 8-0.

^ ha! We’re also playing without a key defenseman and still haven’t lost a game in overtime! Your just mad because your best player can’t even score a point! Check the standings fool

Lol hines86for6 you really got us all now….we will suck on this loss, while we remind ourselves that we are 6 points above your preds atm and can actually afford a loss this early in the season. It’s nice to see how much this win meant to you though, that’s how you should feel after finding a way to beat the Sharks. See you next game…
